Yes. I did it. After much deliberation and lengthy consideration, I finally purchased an iPad.

I have to say, I am very pleased with my decision.

It's super easy and intuitive to use and I never have an excuse to bored ever again in my life. There enough games and distractions to keep me entertained for hours on end.

But that's not the reason I purchased the iPad.

I'm putting this thing to work. I had two specific reasons for waiting to jump on the iPad bandwagon.

First reason: The band.

There are already a bunch of ways I plan on using the iPad in regards to the Sean Gallagher Band. One of the best ways to utilize the iPad is through promotion. The iPad screen and interface makes it very easy to share music and videos and information in a very natural and intuitive way that makes everything smooth, seamless and effective.

Another great tool is an app called SyncSing. This program will allow me to take all of our chord charts and sheet music and compile and save them digitally, saving me from the hassle and waste of binders of music and reprinting stacks of paper. On top of that, it will allow for sharing between iPhones and other iPads. Very useful tool to check out if you are on a worship team or band using binders and paper sheet music. Did I mention it's free?

Second reason: Blogging.

I have been doing a pretty poor job keeping everyone updated through this blog. It's always been the case that as the pace of my life picks up I lose the time to consistently blog which is really unfortunate since a lot of family and friends use this blog to keep updated on things going on in Enid and with the band.

Therefore my goal is to utilize this iPad for more consistent blogging. Here's the first step and I'm pretty happy with how easy it is to blog on an iPad. The onscreen keyboard takes some getting used to but the autocorrect is surprisingly helpful and makes it smoother to write. The biggest room for improvement is finding a good blogging app. I'm just no quite satisfied with the selection out here so hopefully there are some improvements or some new choices in the near future. I'll be on the lookout for one so If you have a suggestion them email it to me at eric (at)

Thanks and look for more consistent updates in the future here and on Facebook.
