What is there to do in Enid for 24 hours??
In just about one month, we're going to find out...
At least that's the idea behind the 24-Hour Blogathon coming up June 3rd and 4th. I'm teaming up with fellow Enid blogger Ben Burleigh who writes at Between The Lines (www.benbtl.com) to explore local cafes, restaurants, and businesses for different events around the city. Fueled primarily by coffee and the drive to write, we'll be blogging our finds and sharing through Facebook, Twitter, and even live video on Ustream.
We'll be hitting up a lot of local cafes and restaurants but we've got a few "main events" planned...
We'll be starting off at Scribner's Gallery for First Friday in Downtown Enid. Ben regularly writes poetry and we're taking some of his pieces and I've added some music to them and we'll be performing the results starting at 7PM.
We're going to check out the Wake Up and Rev Up: Coffee and Cars event happening at Northcutt Chevrolet on that Saturday in the early morning hours. This is also a benefit for Leonardo's Discovery Warehouse & Adventure Quest in Enid so it's a good reason to get up early and come out for some coffee and cars.
We're going to visit our friends Stela and Riley at their gift and accessories boutique, The Felt Bird. They've got a lot of fun and funky gifts and maybe we can convince Riley to bust out his acoustic guitar like he does in this video from the VDub Sessions.
We're going to wrap up at Enid First Assembly for their Saturday Night Service. Ben and I will be serving up free coffee and cappuccino before and after service.
Everyone is more than welcome to join us for any of these events and any of the other locations where we end up. Ben will be armed with his laptop and I'll be slinging an iPad and guitar so we'll make it fun wherever we are... we just hope you can join us! Remember, you can join in person or online so there's really no excuse.
Take a minute and go RSVP on our Facebook event page.
More details to come!
