Some things to look forward to...

I hope the anticipation is starting to build for the upcoming 24-Hour Blogathon. It starts at 7PM this Friday, June 3rd. You can join us in person for different events around Enid during the subsequent 24 hours and you can also track us online through our blogs, Facebook, Twitter and even live video via Ustream. Full schedule is available on my blog and on Facebook but here's a taste of some things that are planned to go down...

You can expect...

More live music and poetry. We'll be kicking it off at Scribner's Gallery in Downtown Enid during First Friday on June 3rd starting at 7PM. We'll have an extended set of guitars and poetry much like we did at Davinci's this last weekend. You can read some of Ben's writing on his blog, Between the Lines: www.benbtl.com

Also, check out a sample of video for a piece titled "Dreamer" we recorded live on Ustream: http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/15001397

A free car show. More specifically we'll be at Northcutt Chevrolet for their "Wake up, Rev Up: Coffee and Cars" event. You can get more info on their website and on Facebook. It's a free event and they will have plenty of coffee on hand for this early morning event. Donations will be accepted to benefit Leonardo's Discovery Warehouse.

Sharp razors on bare skin. While we're hanging out with our friends at The Felt Bird, we're planning a stop to visit their brand-new, next-door neighbors, BlueJay's Barber Shop & Beauty Bar. While there, both Ben and I are planning on trying out their specialty, a straight razor shave. We're talking straight razor blades on bare skin à la Sweeney Todd. And we'll capture the whole thing live on video (just in case there are any "slip-ups"). Tune in during our 1 o' clock appointment on June 4th.

The greatest joke ever. I have got a joke to end all jokes. I know this sounds like an over-the-top claim but you have to trust me on this one. It will top any "guy walks into a bar" joke and the chicken crossing the road won't know what hit him. It's been a few years in the making and I've only ever shared it a couple of times so you won't want to miss it when it happens live on Ustream. You'll have to be watching to know when it happens.

These are just a few things you can expect to happen during the Blogathon. More details will be coming all week and the full schedule is available on the blog. Be sure to RSVP on the Facebook event page today whether you'll be there in person or following online. It's gonna be exciting!!
