Update: Promotion, Writing, Blogging, Reading and a Midnight Frappe

So I'm sitting here at the Hardback Cafe in Hastings for the midnight release of -- honestly, I couldn't tell you. Something about video games, Harry Potter and the NCAA.

But since I am here with free Wi-Fi and a frozen frappe, I figured I should throw out some updates.

First update is that I got a little promotion at work recently. I've basically moved up a rank and that's usually a good thing. I really like the new position and it gets me up off my butt and moving which is definitely a good thing.

I'm still keeping plenty busy with writing. Finishing work on an article for Uncensored Magazine this week, planning out another article for an upcoming issue of E-Town Magazine, going to do another Showdown Review for Route 60 Sentinel and that's on top of the article I already have coming out in the very next issue of E-Town. (Be sure to check out the next one in late July/August, particularly an article on a local photographer written by yours truly.)

I've been giving a lot of thought to Follow Eric and future blogging endeavors. I'm considering yet another Blogathon -- this one would be a Road Trip Blogathon. I'm thinking a leisurely trip from Enid to Oklahoma City with stops at every coffee shop in between. There are actually quite a few not only in Enid and the city, but also some good ones in the smaller towns on the way.

I've also been doing a lot of reading which relates to the blog in a few ways. First of all, I'm delving into some topics that could very well make their way into future posts. Also, I'm considering some author/blogger interviews in the future if that's something that might interest you as readers. There are a few other tricks up my sleeve but we'll save those for later...

Alright, it's after midnight, the cafe is still near empty, and I'm going to go ahead and wrap it up here.

One last thing -- Twitter users should check out @FollowEricBlog for updates for each new blog post and other news/info. Thanks!

Dear Eric,

Great blog! However, as a complete Harry Potter nut, I feel the need to inform you that there was never a game, book, or movie, called "Harry Potter and Something With the NCAA." Now, I'm as big a fan as anyone, but I'm not thinking the franchise should move forward by merging in such a manner. Frankly, the only thing "magic" about the NCAA for me is Earvin Johnson. ;0)

Congrats on the promotion!! Are you going to share the showdown on your blog too or just route 60?

@Stela - I'll share a link on here but the content will be up on Route 60. I'll be sure to let you know when :-)
