Weekend of Worship

I wish I had more than just a few minutes to share some thoughts today. I have so much I would like to share on my reflections of September 11th but they'll have to wait for another time.

I've only got a little pocket of time before I need to be at rehearsal for a worship service tomorrow night. Through some confluence of events, this weekend was packed with several opportunities for me to help out in worship services. It's been a lot of fun and I'm really grateful for the opportunities.

I had a chance to help Arlis Moon lead worship for Saturday Night Service which was pretty awesome. He's got some EP's out and is working a worship project as well. Great stuff. You should check it out online - Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr.

Then tonight I also helped out for Enid First Assembly's evening service. I have just enough time for coffee before heading out Oklahoma Bible Academy for one last rehearsal before ENOW happens tomorrow night. ENOW is Enid Night Of Worship and it's an opportunity for youth from all over Enid to join for one big worship service. It's the second one they've put together and I'm really excited to be a part of it.

It's been a long time since I took a break from weekly worship services so it's been really nice to get back into it this weekend. It definitely helps me realize what a blessing it is to have the opportunity to serve this way. When I play music, especially in worship, it doesn't zap my energy the way work or other tasks usually do. Even if I have to set up and tear down multiple times and play with three different bands in three days, it only serves to pump me up.

I definitely miss doing this on a more regular basis but I'm sure God has a plan for me and more opportunities in the future. In the meantime, I'm enjoying the opportunities I have right before me.

And when this weekend finally wraps up I'll get back to regular blogging.
