DogTown - So nice, I ate it twice

Enid has a new restaurant in town. DogTown, that is. As the newest local addition, it was just a matter of time before I tried it so I decided to visit this past weekend during First Friday in Downtown Enid.

First impressions were great. This place looks fantastic. It's got a perfectly executed retro feel with their menu sprawled out on a chalkboard straight out of an Emerson Junior High classroom from way back in the day and 50's red and blue checkered tile floor.

With over 17 unique dogs to choose from off the Chow Board and any other number of customizable options there's no way you couldn't find a dog you'll love.

In fact, I already found at least two I love. Not only did I enjoy a Philly Dog piled high with steak, peppers, onions and cheese, but I returned the very next day to try out the Prairie Dog, with it's intriguing topping of bacon, fried egg and a green chili sauce. It may not have been the green chili I would expect from New Mexico but it was surprisingly tasty and great with a side of onion rings.

As much as I love me some onion rings, I was super excited to see that they also serve up some awesome sweet potato fries. I've also got to try one of their flaps next time I visit. An onion burger sounds pretty tasty. They've also got a great kid's menu and family-friendly atmosphere.

There's a lot to love about DogTown and I definitely encourage you Enidites to venture out and visit soon. They're open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays until 3 and I suggest going during the evenings or when things slow down after the lunch rush.

Visit them at 115 E. Maine St. (where the old Bamboogeez was) and go like them on Facebook.
