Alright, it's nearing 1 a.m. and it's been a looong day so I can only hope this still makes sense in the morning.
Today I had the opportunity to partake in the 2012 Social Media Tulsa Conference. To be honest, I wasn't at all sure what to expect. But what I discovered was a really fun group of people armed with iPads, sitting at laptops, wielding iPhones and eager to share and learn as much about social media as they could.
It was kind of like this (only not really):
I will say that I was pleasantly surprised by the sheer amount and quality of knowledge I gained even on just the first day. I thought I knew a lot about all of the social media tools available but seeing how people are utilizing them and the true impact they can have was pretty cool. It definitely inspired me to engage social media in new and better ways.
(Speaking of which, I finally gave in to the ways of Pinterest. You can find me at pinterest.com/followeric)
I'm really excited for tomorrow - the second and final day of the conference. If I gain half as much knowledge as I did today then I'll be in great shape.
And the timing couldn't be better with the Tulsa Blogathon ready to start tomorrow. Right after the conclusion of the conference, there'll be a Manly Food Friday Happy Hour hosted by the Tulsa Food Guy. It'll be at Dust Bowl Lanes & Lounge and will unofficially kick off the Blogathon.
Man, it's already shaping up to be a great weekend in Tulsa!
