Talking Soles4Souls at Mountain View Community Center

Another day, another community center.

This morning, I had the privilege to address the kids at Mountain View Community Center about the Soles4Souls shoe drive I've organized for the summer.

I talked to them about bringing in their old shoes so they can be distributed to kids around the world who don't have shoes of their own. They learned over 300 million kids around the world are without proper footwear and they can get cuts and scrapes on their feet that can make them sick. They also learned that many kids who don't have shoes are not allowed to attend school. And, of course, they were especially excited when they learned they would have a chance to win bowling and skate passes for bringing in shoes.

It's been really fun getting to talk to kids this week and I have one last stop tomorrow morning at Westside Community Center. Then we'll have about two weeks to collect as many shoes as we can!
