Exploring El Paso - Richie's Guitar & Drum Exchange

Staying true to my roots in music, I had to squeeze in a visit to a local guitar shop while in town.

Forget Guitar Center or any big box music chain. If you want to score a good deal on a sweet piece of musical equipment, you've got to scope out some local trade-in joints.

In El Paso, Richie's Guitar & Drum Exchange is a good example.

I don't come to El Paso very often so there's always something new at Richie's. If you frequent a guitar shop long enough, you're bound to run into a good find now and again.

Take for example this gorgeous Candy Tangerine Telecaster. I've never seen a guitar in this particular color and the owner explained how that paint job is reserved for Fender Custom Shop guitars.

I decided to let this particular guitar keep its place on the wall and fiddled around with a nearby Martin acoustic. After all, the best part about shopping a music store is giving the guitars a little test ride.
