Guys, if you haven't had a chance to participate in a Cash Mob, you have no idea what you're missing. I'll be honest, I've missed a few lately. And I regret it. But we all have to learn to just get back up on the horse and ride again.
Alright, enough metaphor. Let's start with one of the best parts: the food.
A typical ABQ CashMob event starts at a meeting point, usually a local restaurant. On Saturday, we met up at Cosmo Tapas for a little pre-mob nosh.
Secretly, I think this is my favorite part of the event. Then again, that shouldn't come as a big surprise to anyone.
I indulged in a trio of small plates. I mean, it's a tapas bar, right? What did you expect me to order? A porterhouse? I chose marinated steak-wrapped asparagus, ceviche, and, at the server's suggestion, bacon-wrapped dates.
Those darn dates were easily my favorite of the dishes and I would recommend them to anyone.
After we had our fill of tapas, we walked about a block down Central to our mob target: Bath & Body Bistro.
For a relatively small space, they've got lots of product for sale. You can get their different scents in different forms; scrubs, lotions, etc.
They also have handmade soaps placed under glass that make you feel like you're choosing a fancy candy from a chocolatier.
Either way, it's a great local business that could use your support, Albuquerque.
We'd love to see you at the next ABQ CashMob event. Follow them on Facebook for future event updates. These events happen pretty often so I hope I'll see you at one!
