Shop Local - The Octopus and the Fox

With a whimsical name like that of a fairy tale, I wasn't too sure what to expect upon entering The Octopus and the Fox. What I found was a fantastic treasure trove of handmade delights. The Octopus and the Fox--or OctoFox, for the sake of brevity--takes shopping local to another level by providing a place where a number of local artisans can share their handmade wares. When it comes to holiday shopping, the result is a gift that is personal and unique to the recipient and appreciated that much more.

It's hard to say exactly what to look for at OctoFox. I could point out their selection of local artwork, handmade pillows, decorations, vintage finds, cards, and even baby items, but I think the best way to experience the store is by walking in yourself and browsing the merchandise. You just might run across the perfect gift that you didn't even know you were looking for. I mean, it's not like you started the day expecting to come across a couple of crocheted narwhals, but there they are, waiting for you with great expectation.

That's the kind of quirkiness you can expect at OctoFox. But again, don't take my word for it, take a trip down to EDo (that's East Downtown) to see for yourself.

Cool! It's like a real live Etsy. Thanks for sharing this Eric. I'm loving your blog. It's a lot of fun to read and just what our city needs!
Congratulations on the Albuquerque the Magazine win! I'm not surprised one bit! If you head out to the party, my husband and I would love to meet you!
